Shoe of the Day: Channel some Chanel

Maiden Lane Blake (Gilt)
I don’t wear ankle boots or shooties very often because I don’t like how they look on my feet. I have small and narrow feet, and when I wear shoes that cut off at the ankle bone, they make my legs look a little stumpy, at least in my opinion. (Actually, I own one pair because they look great with skinny or straight-leg jeans.) Even though I don’t like wearing the style often myself, I do like looking at them; you can do so many interesting things to a bootie/shootie design. Styles range from simple and classic to edgy and unique. I personally favor the simple and classic styles.
These darling little booties by Maiden Lane (a line owned by Gilt Groupe created specifically for Gilt.com) are quite stunning. And don’t they remind you of another designer? Chanel maybe? Chanel is known for their shoes with the iconic quilted leather and cap toe design. And at $99, these are just a fraction of the cost, yet they’re made of leather and look just as nice!
