I’ve been slightly obsessed with sneakers lately. I remember a time when cool, fashionable sneakers for women were harder to find. Nowadays, you can spot them everywhere! The only problem I have with this is that some designs are becoming slightly over the top, such as studded to the point they become weapons, or a ridiculous clash of textures and colors. But for the most part, there are some really amazing and unique styles out there in addition to the timeless classics. One of my favorite pairs is the Marc by Marc Jacobs lace high top above (Lord & Taylor, SSense, Bloomingdale’s, Zappos). I love the touch of femininity the lace adds, and the peek of blue among the black. I started looking for few pairs of fun styles for myself, and I’ve come across so many different options. It was quite hard to narrow the selection, but I’ve picked out my top 15 choices that will add a little pizazz to your casual look.
Converse Dainty (Amazon, Piperlime, Zappos, DSW)
You can never go wrong with a classic Chuck Taylor. Converse has started producing them with a thinner profile for women. I’ve got to say, these are fantastic. I tried on a bright lime green pair and fell in love with the fit and look but I prefer more subdued colors, so I’ll probably shop around a bit before settling on a pair.
G by Guess Olicia (Macy’s)
Puma Suede Classic (Zappos, Amazon, Asos, 6pm)
I have these in black, and they are probably the most comfortable shoes I own (apart from my running sneakers). They work with practically every casual outfit! I love that they’re also made in a bunch of bright colors.
I think these sneakers are super cute, and a great alternative to black sneakers. Plus, the velvet material is very different and sure to catch some compliments!
H&M Low Sneakers
Looking for a sneaker update on a budget? These are probably your best bet. The texture is great, and the neutral color ensures that they’ll work well with just about any outfit!
Michael by Michael Kors Boerum (Piperlime, Zappos)
Onitsuka Tiger by ASICS Mexico 66 (6pm, Amazon, Zappos)
Pink and Pepper Shield (Piperlime, 6pm, Zappos, DSW)
Puma Sky (DSW, Macy’s, Zappos)
Le Coq Sportif (Yoox)
Supra Skytop (Asos)
Ted Baker Merip (Amazon, Zappos, 6pm, Nordstrom)
Vince Camuto Umily (Amazon, Dillards, Bloomingdale’s, Saks off 5th)
Keds Champion (Amazon, Zappos)Another great classic! I find that Keds are very comfortable and extremely versatile. They’re especially great for summer walks around the city. I love that they’re available in both slip-on or lace-up styles, and so many cute patterns and colors. They’ve also teamed up with Kate Spade to produce some limited edition styles, including glitter!
