There are endless possibilities when designing a shootie, and the Gucci Jane sandal bootie (still available on Yoox) is a perfect example of the ideal balance between sandal and shoe. The front of the shoe covers the foot, while the back leaves it exposed, yet secured with the two ankle straps. I also love the use of both leather and suede. The Jane is, in my opinion, a very stunning and versatile shoe. It can be worn with bare legs, tights, and would probably even look great with textured socks. You can still catch it on some flash sale sites (last spotted on Ideeli for $640) but even then, they’re still pricey.
Luckily there’s a fabulous double-take from ShoeMint. Apart from the shape of the heel, the Cece is identical to the Jane.
Although the Mercedes from JustFab is the most affordable option, the elegance of the original Jane hasn’t been translated as well into this pair.
I love ShoeMint. However the pair I purchased I wore like 3 days in a row and had no isesus. The husband is fearful I’m going to continue to purchase shoes from them every month, rest assured I’ve only bought 1 pair thus far. lol
