It’s fantastic when the heel becomes a focal point on a pair of pumps, and Casadei has a great reputation for that. The iconic Blade pump is instantly recognizable for it’s sleek and modern shape. For the fall 2013 collection, Casadei took a walk on the wild side with animal prints and chunkier heels. This sculpted zebra heel is covered in pony hair and creates a beautiful contrast with the black suede upper. It came in several styles, including pumps, ankle boots, t-strap pumps, and jaw-dropping thigh high boots.
I may not be a huge fan of ombré hair, but I do love ombré printed clothing and shoes. I think the effect can look very cool, especially with pumps. The beautiful Jimmy Choo Abel pump is a clear winner in the ombré footwear category—check out the black and gold Agnes and the black glitter Abel versions. But as much as I love the effect, I can’t justify spending the money. Luckily there’s a more affordable and still beautiful version out there!
Temperatures haven’t climbed up to a comfortable 70 degrees, so I haven’t taken my sandals out of storage yet. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t been thinking about warm weather footwear! There’s nothing better than a well-made, light and comfortable sandal that stays on your feet. They’re available in leopard and multi.
I’ve been slightly obsessed with sneakers lately. I remember a time when cool, fashionable sneakers for women were harder to find. Nowadays, you can spot them everywhere! The only problem I have with this is that some designs are becoming slightly over the top, such as studded to the point they become weapons, or a ridiculous clash of textures and colors. But for the most part, there are some really amazing and unique styles out there in addition to the timeless classics. One of my favorite pairs is the Marc by Marc Jacobs lace high top above (Lord & Taylor, SSense, Bloomingdale’s, Zappos). I love the touch of femininity the lace adds, and the peek of blue among the black. I started looking for few pairs of fun styles for myself, and I’ve come across so many different options. It was quite hard to narrow the selection, but I’ve picked out my top 15 choices that will add a little pizazz to your casual look.
I’m currently in-lust with these amazing pin-up pumps by Casadei (perhaps a season too late, but that just means they can be found on sale now!). The FW12-13 collection was built around this particular pump and included a rang of silhouettes, including leather netting and ruched leather details. Taking inspiration from pin-up style, the pump was designed to be feminine, romantic, and seductive. I love the dipped front and almond toe; there’s no hint of toe cleavage with these! It’s all about curves of the foot and ankle. I personally prefer the version without the platform (still available on Yoox in black and other colors) as it’s more feminine, but the platform version (in grey here) looks beautiful as well!
The first day of fall is only one week away! Is your closet ready for the coming chilly weather? Boot season is my favorite season. But knowing me, when spring season rolls around I’ll probably be saying that sandal season is my favorite. But either way, a shoe closet needs a good supply of each!
For the fall, your best bet is a black knee-high boot. It goes with everything, from jeans and skirts to dresses and shorts. It can be flat or with a heel, with buckles or without, and in any material that you choose. I prefer leather, but there are many other options out there as well, including fabric, faux leather, and even rubber rain boots! Most of the pairs in my boot bounty list are leather and black (black boots are just so hard to resist), but you can find many more options on my favorite websites for shoe shopping (6pm, Zappos, Yoox, etc.) and at stores in your area. And even if you’re not looking to get boots this year, you can still feast on my list of styles to lust after:
BCBG Max Azria Nimber (6pm)
Adrienne Vittadini Birdie (Amazon)
Franco Sarto Talula (DSW)
Louise et Cie Zavia (Lord and Taylor)
Note: DSW does not pay me to write about shoes.
It’s that time of year again…summer sale season! Clearance stickers are popping up everywhere in stores, and online prices are dropping like crazy. There are a so many stunning styles out there, and it can be hard to sift through them all. I’ve put together a list of my favorite shoes on sale. And the best part? They’re all budget friendly at under $100!

And even though I can’t get all the shoes I want, a girl can dream! Here’s a list of my picks of shoes to splurge on:
Vince Camuto Cynthea (The Shoe Box)
I love this double-take from Vince Camuto because it’s a suede version of the beautiful YSL Clara, and I’m more partial to suede than leather. Vince Camuto also makes their shoes out of high quality leathers, which are usually very soft and comfortable.
Schutz Verniz (Ideeli)
Update August 8: The Verniz pump from Schutz is another great alternative to the YSL Clara. I have three different pairs of Schutz shoes, and they’re all extremely high quality. But hurry, I’m not sure how long the deal on Ideeli will last!
Update August 15: Gilt is having a Schutz sale today with the same pump, except under the name Saulo. It’s also cheaper than on Ideeli.
Of course I noticed all the dresses, but I was definitely paying more attention to the shoes worn for the punk-themed Met gala last week. I was surprised how many I actually recognized. I picked out several of my favorites, as well as tracked down where you could get some of them if you really wanted to. Enjoy!
