I love studded shoes, especially when it’s combined with a ladylike silhouette. The contrast between the two elements always gives the shoe an interesting look. I was never originally a fan of the Valentino Rockstud styles, the most popular being the t-strap pump, but it has slowly grown on me. I particularly love the styles that are not overdone, such as the amazing ankle boot above. I spotted these at Nordstrom during their sale and couldn’t stay away! The leather is amazingly soft, and they fit beautifully. They’re available in a couple colors, and my favorite is the dark red.
In my opinion, Valentino shoes were leaders when the studded shoe trend rose up last year. The collection included several tastefully embellished styles, including pumps, flats, and boots, that were easily recognizable and spotted on many celebrities and bloggers. These booties sold out fairly quickly!
I love taking trips to TJ Maxx, even if it is just to browse. There are two stores about thirty minutes away from me that have The Runway, so I’m a bit spoiled in terms of finding luxe merchandise for less. If I go at a good time, right when they get new shipments or when they do the first round of clearance stickers, I can find a lot of great deals. Unfortunately, many of these deals are still outside my budget. But if I ever wanted to splurge or spoil myself, this is where I’d go.
Who needs flip-flops if this kind of magical creation exists? I love these sandals (also in pink), I think they’re the epitome of cool summer style. You can get the original Valentino design at MyTheresa and Forward by Elyse Walker. Unfortunately, my pockets don’t run this deep. Luckily, I found what is possibly the best double-take version of a Valentino Rockstud style. The structure, color, and studs on the Denise sandal by Schutz mirror the original. The best part, the lining and upper are 100% leather!
I think the Rockstud flats are probably the most successful of the studded Valentino styles. They are easily more versatile than the other designs, and definitely amp up the cool factor of an otherwise normal pair of flats. They come in so many great colors as well (pink, yellow, red, and nude)! There are a couple nice double-takes out there of this style.
Valentino branched out a bit from the t-strap design and also create Rockstud styles that follow more classic shapes, such as peep-toe pumps and flats. I love the neutral palette on the this pump, and it’s also available in red. The shape is very classic, and the studs add just the right amount of edge to an otherwise simple pump. You can find them on FarFetch.
The most trending style you couldn’t help but notice this spring was studded shoes, and the most popular came from Valentino. The Rockstud (Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom) has been spotted on celebrities and bloggers, which quickly made them very popular. I think it’s because Valentino took an element reserved for hardcore punk styles and pared it down to something that is sophisticated, sleek, sexy, and edgy all at the same time. It’s not surprising that many other brands took inspiration from the original Valentino designs.
