Strappy Sandals

Tuesday Shoesday: Hello Spring

Michael Kors Jenna Strappy Sandal

I like to welcome spring with a bang. After months of wearing boots and closed shoes, slipping my feet into a fantastic pair of strappy sandals feels so great. This particular pair by Michael Kors is one of my favorites. I plucked them off the shelves at TJ Maxx some time ago, and didn’t even debate putting them in my cart after trying them on. The color is probably my favorite thing about them, but I also love how comfortable they are. Needless to say, they get many complements. I even won a couple contests by sharing these!

Shoe of the Day: Strap Happy

I am head over heels in love with this strappy creation by Giuseppe Zanotti. Gold paired with black or white is one of my favorite color combinations. It just looks so refined and classic, even if the overall design is a bit elaborate. Zanotti has an excellent talent for adding just the right touch of class to his edgier designs, and the sandals above are no exception. The delicate straps balance out the busy structure, making the shoes less overwhelming and more wearable. And the dainty golden buckles and gold-tipped straps add a touch of ladylike grace. I’m not happy about the price tag though…does anyone want to get these for me on my birthday?

Double-Take: Givenchy Zenaide

I’m a sucker for laced and strappy sandals, which is why the Zenaide by Givenchy caught my eye. I love the grommet detailing along the center strap, which is just enough to give them an edgy feel without being too overwhelming. The thin straps perfectly balance out the thicker sole and boot-like shape.

Shoe of the Day: Lovely Leaves

These stunning heels by Giuseppe Zanotti from the S/S14 collection scream sexy goddess. I can’t help but think that they should be worn with flowing white dresses, rich gold jewelry, and followed by entourage of hypnotized men. Paints quite a picture doesn’t it? I think they look extremely elegant in white, but they’re also available in black. Unfortunately, they go for a whopping $1875, so you probably won’t be seeing me wearing them anytime soon. I just hope an equally beautiful double-take comes into existence because they sure make a statement. If the price doesn’t make you feel faint, you can find them on Neiman Marcus, Zappos, and Bergdorf Goodman.

Shoe of the Day: Ravishing in Red

Spring is just around the corner, and I’m glad to see that lady-like heels are still around. Sandals with ankle straps are fantastic shoes because they are both sexy and comfortable, if you find the right pair for you. An ankle strap helps keep the shoe stable on your feet, and the open structure reveals the feminine arches and painted toes. I especially love the Oljera by Vince Camuto because the color is so bright and the texture makes the shoe interesting. The little buckles on the side are the cherries on top of a fantastic pair of shoes. And if bright red isn’t your thing, they’re also available in black. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying them on in person, but I bet they’re very comfortable; I own several Vince Camuto shoes (both flat and heeled) and have never been disappointed. You can find these on Revolve, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s.

Shoe of the Day: Nirvana

To put it simply, nirvana is a place or state characterized by freedom from or oblivion to pain, worry, and the external world. I’m not quite sure why this particular word was chosen as a name for these shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, but I’m assuming that getting your hands on a pair would evoke a pretty fantastic feeling. The silhouette of this shoe is beautiful; a gently curving heel and the stunning snake-like ankle strap make the shoe sensual, elegant, and very unique. I can’t help by wonder how well they stay on though.

Coach-Laila-Bow-Sandals

Double-Take: Coach Laila

I’ve already confessed that I don’t like bows on my shoes (I think I have maybe two pairs of flats with a dainty little bow on them). Yet I couldn’t help but stop and look at these simply darling heels by Coach while I was meandering the shoe department at Macy’s in Philadelphia.
