When the whole PVC shoe thing happened, Christian Louboutin utilized it in several designs in a way that created illusions on the foot. The best example of this is the Un Bout pump; it was everywhere on the red carpet and style blogs. There are also many double-takes, though I haven’t come across a really nice version yet. While the idea is great, I think the execution could have been better; I wouldn’t want my feet sweating in plastic all day. Not to mention, everyone would be able to see your squished toes!
Christian Louboutin Bis un Bout
Louboutin continues to play with illusion; there are several shoes in his newer collections constructed with mesh instead of PVC, which I think look more elegant and refined. The Abbessess, A la Peche, and Lagoula all look more sophisticated with the use of mesh. But my favorite is the Love Me pump, which is sold out. I think the floating bow effect adds ladylike glamour in a new and different way.

Audrey Brooke Millie (DSW)
Unfortunately, it’ll be a while until I can afford Louboutins, so I always like to search for alternate options. I can across these pumps by Audrey Brooke at DSW. Although the mesh is black and not nude, which takes away from the illusion a bit, I think the pump is very ladylike and would be a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.
