Jimmy Choo Tokyo Glitter Sneaker

Double-Take: Jimmy Choo Tokyo

The weather is starting to cool down and I’m getting into the fall mindset. A lot of people bring out the boots as soon as the first chills of fall set in, but I prefer to step out in sneakers.

High end designers are boosting their collections with casual-chic styles, and some of my favorites are from Giuseppe Zanotti and Jimmy Choo. The Tokyo sneaker is probably what I would splurge on if I could. It’s such a versatile high-top with minimal detail and a classic white-walled sole. Saint Laurent Glitter Trainer

Double-Take: Saint Laurent Glitter Trainers

Sneakers are still having their moment in fashion. Everyone from Céline to Steve Madden is making them, and in so many different styles. The slip on sneakers around today have come a long way from their 90’s ancestors, especially those made with materials such us leather or pony hair. But one of my favorites is definitely glitter; it brings a girlish vibe to an otherwise masculine shoe. Wearing glittery shoes is an excellent way to add a little oomph to your casual outfits. I love the Saint Laurent trainers above (FarFetch), but they’re far out of my budget. But that’s okay because glitter is not some super fancy material, and there are plenty of other options!

Tuesday Shoesday: Casual Minimal

G-by-Guess-Malden-Black-Glitter-Flat-Sport-Sneaker

I remember wearing slip on sneakers when I was a kid, they were huge in the 90s. Those and Keds were probably the most popular styles in my small town when I was growing up. Of course, basic styles never really go away, and when they do come back, they’re better than ever before. I’m so happy that there has been a shift towards comfortable and fashionable sneakers lately. Don’t get me wrong, I love my heels, but there are days when this shoe lover just wants to slip into something more low maintenance. I’m dying for a pair of leopard print pony-hair slip-on sneakers (ala Céline), but I came across these glitter ones at DSW and fell in love. And they were on clearance!
