I know it’s only the beginning of November, but my mind is already jumping ahead to the holiday season. And there’s no better way to accessorize for those seasonal celebrations than with a pair of sparkling ankle boots! This pair by Aldo caught my eye as I passed by the store window at the King of Prussia Mall. They are such a great statement piece. I love pairing shimmering footwear with simpler dresses because they stand out so much more. However, they didn’t come home with me because I had already gotten a sequin dress. One glitzy purchase was enough that day!
The much anticipated fall-winter fashion season is sprinting towards us. Now that it’s officially September, I’m scrambling to fall great transition pieces and new winter staples. Earlier today, Casadei unveiled their new collection, an intriguing mix of opposites: classic elegance and eclectic energy. The beautiful Venice pump jumped out at me immediately. I adore the baroque floral detailing along the heel, quite a departure from Casadei’s signature blade style. And the purple suede has just enough depth to offset the gold metal beautifully. I’m officially in love! You can see the rest of the collection here.
Maybe it’s because a friend of mine is getting married soon that I’ve suddenly become obsessed with elegant, delicate, and feminine formal sandals. I’m not anywhere close to walking down the isle, but if I were, I know I’d probably spend more on my shoes than on the dress or jewelry I’d wear.
How wonderful it is that Tuesday Shoesday falls on New Year’s Eve, a night during which every shoe lover should don their most fantastic footwear to great the new year! I was lucky enough to find these lovelies from the Ralph Lauren Collection some time ago and have been waiting for the perfect occasion to wear them. My NYE celebrations aren’t exactly a place for designer footwear (I care about my shoes too much to subject them to spilled drinks and clumsy dancing) so I’ll be saving these for another special event, such as Valentine’s day.
As I wrote yesterday, my taste in smoking slippers ranges from simple to embellished. I recently found a more feminine pair on HauteLook (still waiting for them to arrive!), but studded and embellished styles are my favorite. I got these at DSW a little while ago, and I’ve fallen in love with them. They’re great for jazzing up a casual outfit and sparkle amazingly at night!
I don’t normally purchase this brand because their shoes are usually made from uncomfortable materials, but this pair is made entirely of cloth so they’re super soft and flexible. The only uncomfortable feature is the extremely thin sole, but I fixed that easily with a sheepskin insole (these are my favorite) that’s thin enough to fit in flats but also add great cushioning!
Wow, just wow. I really have no other words to describe these stunning sandals by Giuseppe Zanotti. I managed to snag them online when DSW significantly lowered the prices on all their Luxe810 shoes. With my discount, they were an absolute steal! Unfortunately, they ran rather large and my feet were constantly sliding around, causing the back edge to rub against my ankle. So, with a heavy heart, I returned them…but not before snapping a few good shots! If you wear size 7 or 7.5, head over to the DSW in Plymouth Meeting and you might be able to get them for yourself!
I’ve always been drawn to unique block heel styles. Although a thicker heel on a strappy shoe might sometimes look awkward and unbalanced, it actually helps balance out the shape of the leg, especially if you have thicker calves. (However, for ladies with very slender legs, it might look too cumbersome). These heels from Zara are striking because of the heavy embellishment across the toe strap and down the heel. I can see them being worn with pants for a night on the town, or paired nicely with a dress for the holidays.
The beauty of the Zara brand is that they provide styles in various price ranges, making them available to a variety of customers. Unfortunately, this can sometimes determine the quality of the item. I personally don’t own anything from Zara (not yet anyway) because I’ve never found something that was worth the ticket price. And when things go on sale, they’re snatched up pretty fast. Perhaps I’ll own something from them someday, but for now I’ll just look to them for inspiration.
