Double-Take: Giuseppe Zanotti Metal Heel Pump

Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are always eye-catching. They’re often embellished with rich detail such as metal elements, animal prints, and crystals, ensuring that they ooze sex and glamour. He’s quite good at turning a simple design into something fabulous. I love the sculptural detail of the metal heeled pumps below, and it’s a good thing that there are double-takes out there for those of us who can’t pay the retail price:

Giuseppe Zanotti Pump
Miss KG (Dorothy Perkins
As much as I love shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, I actually prefer this double-take by Miss KG. Even though the platform is exposed, which I don’t like, the heel doesn’t curve inwards as much, which I love. I’ve always preferred a straight heel to a curved heel.

Giuseppe Zanotti Jake Sandal (Farfetch; also a peep-toe version)
Giuseppe Zanotti designed several styles with the curved metal heel, including sandals and some booties. Although this particular shoe is a bit wild for my taste, the design is quite fun and definitely eye catching.

Dollhouse Ultimate Sandal (Urban OG in black and animal)
The Ultimate sandal by Dollhouse is a great double-take of the Giuseppe Zanotti Jake, right down to the black and white animal print straps. The style and coloring is almost identical, and it comes in other colors as well!

Double-Take: Miu Miu Strappy Sandal

Miu Miu Multi-Strap Sandal (Barney’s, Net-a-Porter – sold out)

A well-designed heeled sandal, especially in a vibrant red color, can be extremely sexy in a refined way. There’s been an increase in delicate and sophisticated shoes recently, which are replacing (though not totally eradicating) clunky platforms and cutesy styles. This pair from Miu Miu is stunning, and although they’re sold out, you can still find double-take versions that are just as good and almost indistinguishable from the original.

Dorothy Perkins Strappy Sandals (available in red, nude, and black)

Dorothy Perkins carries a range of shoes on their site, some of which are pretty nice. These sandals are from the ‘DP Premium’ branded range, which are fairly high quality for budget shoes and usually made of leather.

BCBGeneration Montie (Amazon, 6pm, Macy’s)

The Montie sandal looks incredible on! It has an extra buckle that the original Miu Miu sandal doesn’t, but that just makes them easier to get on. Because they have a zipper at the back, you can adjust your buckles once and never unbuckle them again. These shoes do run small however, and are definitely not for those with a wider foot because they are very narrow as well. When I tried them on, I had to go up at least half a size.

Update July 20:

Kenneth Cole New York Love Test

I just came across these heeled sandals from Kenneth Cole. The structure is very similar to the Miu Miu sandal. The gold color would look really great worn with more formal dresses.
