Whenever I shop, especially for shoes, I make sure to browse each isle twice in case I missed something the first time. I was doing my last rounds at DSW one night when out of the corner of my eye I spotted these stunners. It’s quite clear why they caught my interest: the unique studded pattern across the shoe, especially because it’s gold on black, is quite striking. Even though they’re not quite my style, I think they’d be quite the statement piece in any wardrobe! Available in burgundy or black, you can also find them on Zappos, Amazon, Piperlime, Lord & Taylor, and Nordstrom.
I absolutely love the color of these Christian Louboutin ankle boots! As I’ve mentioned before, I’m drawn to cobalt blue shoes. I’m not entirely sure why because blue isn’t even my favorite color. It probably has something to do with how well cobalt pops against dark or neutral-colored clothing.
I fell in love with these ankle boots the first time I saw them. And I almost never fall in love with Louboutin styles unless they’re extremely classic and simple. But something about these called out to me; I’m pretty sure it’s the super-cool woven strap detail on the front with the added buckles.
Looking for an update to your basic black ankle boot? Check out these super cute booties by Kelly & Katie, a DSW exclusive brand. Aptly named Valentino—who could forget all those studded styles that influenced an entire season of shoes?—they are very versatile for the fall and winter season. And they’re only $49.95 at your local DSW store!
Ankle boots are a great transitional style and perfect for fall. Deep colors, such as brown, navy, and burgundy, are ideal. Whether they’re flat or heeled, they instantly update your wardrobe for the chillier weather. I absolutely love this pair from Céline. The perfectly straight heel, simple silhouette, and just-above-the-ankle shaft work together extremely well to create a basic style that works with literally everything.
On a recent trip to NYC, I had some time to pop into the 34th Street Vince Camuto store. I immediately gravitated towards these buckled ankle boots. The shape and style is fantastic, especially the golden heel, but what I like most is the use of mixed materials. The front is made in smooth leather with a matte finish, while the heel is made in shiny pony hair. The rich black patent straps around the ankle add the finishing touch to these fantastic ankle boots. These boots are from a relatively new line by Vince Camuto called Louise et Cie; you can find this particular style online at Nordstrom, and in different color variations on Vince Camuto.
Thanks to Chanel, there’s nothing more classic than quilted leather on a bag or a pair of shoes. The style is so iconic and statement-making that it’s become quite easy to get the look for less without it being a knock-off. Last month I wrote about a pair of booties on Gilt.com, which looked very much like a pair of Chanel booties, even down to the patent cap toe. And now I’ve come across this amazing pair from Nine West. It’s a little bit more bad-ass and edgy, which I’ve got to admit, I like a lot more. The heel seems a bit high, but I have a pair of boots from Nine West with a very high heel and they’re surprisingly comfortable. These are quite out of my budget for now, so I’ll just keep an eye on them and hopefully the price might drop.
It was impossible to walk by Aldo without noticing these electric blue ankle booties. The color is so eye-catching, and the placement of the zippers gives them some edge. When I first saw these online, I wasn’t blown away; however, they look way cooler in person. I happened to be wearing a pair of dark pencil jeans when I tried them on, and the bright blue really popped. I’ve never had luck with the fit of shoes from Aldo, but these were actually great! Not too narrow, not too short. The only thing they lack is cushioning at the ball of foot, which can easily be added. I’m not ready to spend the money on them right now, but perhaps when they go on sale I’ll reconsider it!
This gorgeous ankle boot is selling quite quickly, and it’s easy to see why! The detail and styling is classic and sophisticated, yet so very cool; every aspect of the design works well together, making it the perfect little bootie for fall. The design of Piper reflects everything about the Tibi brand: luxury with ease, simple but utterly modern. I’m not at all surprised that I recognized the styling as soon as a caught sight of the shoe because Tibi shoes have such a specific look to them. I’ve only featured a pair once so far, but you will definitely be seeing more in the future!
I know that lately, shoe heels and platforms have been shrinking to more reasonable and walkable heights, but I couldn’t resist these Plumperfct boots from Nine West. Despite the extremely high heel (a whopping 6 inches!), the sheer simplicity of the boot is what makes them so amazing. This fall season, heavy detail is in, but I can only stand it in small doses. I’m one of those shoe lovers who will usually pick simple over complicated, mostly because a simple style is just more versatile and wearable. However, the extremely high heel of these is a slight turn-off. Although I love being super tall from time to time, I would prefer this style with a 4-inch heel, a more comfortable height for day-wear.
