Casadei Zebra Heel Pumps

Double-Take: Casadei Zebra Heel Pumps

It’s fantastic when the heel becomes a focal point on a pair of pumps, and Casadei has a great reputation for that. The iconic Blade pump is instantly recognizable for it’s sleek and modern shape. For the fall 2013 collection, Casadei took a walk on the wild side with animal prints and chunkier heels. This sculpted zebra heel is covered in pony hair and creates a beautiful contrast with the black suede upper. It came in several styles, including pumps, ankle boots, t-strap pumps, and jaw-dropping thigh high boots.

Tuesday Shoesday: Hear me Roar

Michael Kors Silvy Leopard Ankle Boot

This past Saturday, DSW had their second National Shoe Lover Day extravaganza. My first experience with this wonderful holiday was last year. And since I don’t work there anymore, I couldn’t pass up a chance to win free shoes. The excitement and energy is great, and the temptation to splurge on shoes is even greater than normal. So what did I score? These wonderful ankle boots by Michael Kors! Luckily, they were on clearance so I didn’t actually spend as much as I thought I would. I was thrilled when I spotted them in my size because they’re a great bootie for fall. They look fantastic with jeans and a chunky knit sweater!

Tuesday Shoesday: Furry Friends

Sergio-Rossi-Can-Can-Sandal-with-Blue-Fur

These seriously adorable Can Can heels are from the FW 2011/2012 Sergio Rossi collection. They found their way into my hands as an impulse buy during a DSW Luxe 810 sale. And as much as I adored them, I couldn’t let them stay. So I snapped a couple pictures and made the rational decision to return them. I’m not sure how possible it would be to track them down again, as they were the last pair online and I returned them at a store. But there once was a time that DSW Shoephoria helped me get my hands on a pair of lust-worthy boots, so it’s possible that they can help you track down a pair of shoes too!

Giuseppe-Zanotti-Gold-Metal-Heel-Pump

Double-Take: Giuseppe Zanotti Metal Heel Pump

Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are always eye-catching. They’re often embellished with rich detail such as metal elements, animal prints, and crystals, ensuring that they ooze sex and glamour. He’s quite good at turning a simple design into something fabulous. I love the sculptural detail of the metal heeled pumps below, and it’s a good thing that there are double-takes out there for those of us who can’t pay the retail price:

Giuseppe Zanotti Pump
Miss KG (Dorothy Perkins
As much as I love shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, I actually prefer this double-take by Miss KG. Even though the platform is exposed, which I don’t like, the heel doesn’t curve inwards as much, which I love. I’ve always preferred a straight heel to a curved heel.

Giuseppe Zanotti Jake Sandal (Farfetch; also a peep-toe version)
Giuseppe Zanotti designed several styles with the curved metal heel, including sandals and some booties. Although this particular shoe is a bit wild for my taste, the design is quite fun and definitely eye catching.

Dollhouse Ultimate Sandal (Urban OG in black and animal)
The Ultimate sandal by Dollhouse is a great double-take of the Giuseppe Zanotti Jake, right down to the black and white animal print straps. The style and coloring is almost identical, and it comes in other colors as well!

Double-Take: Giuseppe Zanotti Leopard Wedge

Giuseppe Zanotti (DSW
I love anything with spots, especially shoes with spots. I first saw these Giuseppe Zanotti pumps on Gilt during one of their amazing shoe sales but unfortunately they didn’t have my size. I ended up getting a different pair of pumps on super sale and an email code for an extra 50% off. I had some doubts at first because of the heel height, but they earned a special place in my heart when they helped me win a custom pair! I am now a proud mama of two pairs of Giuseppe Zanotti shoes (total cost for both still under $100!) and completely addicted.

But of course, I can’t go around buying all the designer shoes I want because I have to pay for things like food. So I found a pretty good double-take of the animal print wedge at DSW one day. They were on the clearance racks and not in my size, so I’m bummed I didn’t spot them earlier, but you might still have a chance at snagging a pair online or in stores if you call the Shoephoria center.

Levity Diva (DSW
The shape of the Diva pump by Levity (a brand exclusive to DSW) is actually quite different from the Zanotti pair, but it actually looks quite stunning on the foot. The curves of the leather highlight the shape of the foot, and the pointed toe is a bit more sophisticated the rounded toe on the pair by Zanotti. They’re also comfortable because the heel isn’t as high.
