The much anticipated fall-winter fashion season is sprinting towards us. Now that it’s officially September, I’m scrambling to fall great transition pieces and new winter staples. Earlier today, Casadei unveiled their new collection, an intriguing mix of opposites: classic elegance and eclectic energy. The beautiful Venice pump jumped out at me immediately. I adore the baroque floral detailing along the heel, quite a departure from Casadei’s signature blade style. And the purple suede has just enough depth to offset the gold metal beautifully. I’m officially in love! You can see the rest of the collection here.
I’m a sucker for beautiful golden shoes, especially evening pumps and sandals. Apart from the fact that the color looks great with my skin, I feel it also conveys a sense of luxury and aristocracy. It’s not really surprising, since gold has always been associated with wealth and class. Jimmy Choo always has a wonderful selection of delicate sandals and pumps, perfect if you’re looking for formal occasion footwear. Or if you just want to add something pretty to your collection. I love the Mustique pump (Nordstrom) because it’s very lady-like and tastefully finished off with a touch of mesh and golden glitter. It’s easy to make gold look over done and gaudy, but the d’Orsay silhouette and simple detailing nicely balance out the shimmering leather.
I wrote about the gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti Nirvana back in January when I first set eyes upon it. It’s quite a ravishing shoe, very elegant and edgy at the same time. And the snake-like detail is pretty tempting! It’s such a unique design that I didn’t think there would be many copies out there. Imagine my surprise when I came across an extremely similar pair by Bebe…
Some time ago, I mentioned these shoes briefly in a double-take post, and just recently realized that I have never featured this gorgeous pair! These Yves Saint Laurent Opyum pumps were probably my most fortunate footwear find. I was in the St. David’s TJ Maxx store during the tail end of the winter clearance event last year. There were a fair amount of clothing clearance bargains still left but after perusing the shoes and not finding much in my size, I headed off to the registers. As I was waiting in line, I decided to dig through a large clearance bin nearby…and I came across these. I’m not sure who stuffed them into the container filled with lotions and beauty products, but I’m so very glad that they did!
I’m not normally into the rocker inspired shoes, but these definitely caught my eye. I spotted them through the store window at King of Prussia and immediately walked in to try them on. The Bryn boot is definitely a statement-making pair with chunky studs and super high heel. They are undeniably hot! Unfortunately, if you have a higher than normal arch, they can be tricky to get on because there is no zipper. But have patience! I found that a thin sock creates a smoother experience. You can get these babies at your local MK store, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Dillard’s, or on Zappos.
These Moxie sandals by Klub Nico are like gilded jewelry for your feet. The intricate cut out detailing is quite stunning and the metallic champagne upper creates an elegant effect. These are perfect for a fall wedding or an elegant evening soirée. They’re also super comfortable because the ankle strap keeps them secure on your feet. Check your local Nordstrom store and you might be able to grab a pair! And if gold isn’t your color, they’re also available in black.
Normally I don’t like chunky ankle straps because I feel that thinner ones accentuate the leg much better, but this particular pair of heels by Michael Kors captured my heart. The silhouette is very simple, but the bold buckle really makes the shoe speak volumes. The peep toe detail is a nice touch because it balances the heaviness of the ankle strap. These amazing shoes are a bit out of my budget, but I’ll be watching for a sale. I came across these at Macy’s in Center City, but you can also find them at Dillard’s.
I love to pair these stunning Casadei pumps with bright colors and sleek accessories. This pair was my first dip into high-end footwear. They came into my possession about two years ago when I won RueLaLa’s super fun ShoeLaLa competition with a photo of my favorite MK sandals. I’ve bought and sold many shoes since then, but these aren’t going anywhere anytime soon! I usually go for shoes with four or five inch heels, but I chose the lower version of the Blade pump because I wanted to wear them comfortably. Definitely one of the more sensible choices I made!
These incredibly simple sandals have become my absolute favorite! I ordered these from Express on a whim because they were having a 40% off sale, and I’m so glad that I did! The minimalist silhouette is extremely versatile, and so comfortable that I find myself wanting to wear them almost every day. These sandals go great with everything from jeans to dresses! Just recently, Express released the sandals again in tan leather and red suede; I’m dying to get them in the other colors. I tried on a 7 in stores and they’re way too big, but I’ll cross my fingers and hope Express will make them in half sizes again.
Red shoes are a must-have in every woman’s closet. Although classic pumps are the obvious choice, straps and edgy details are always more interesting. The Nyambi by Enzo Angiolini is a fantastic alternative to tamer styles. The three chunky straps are balanced by a thinner heel, and the zippers are accented with tiny dagger charms. I absolutely love how they look!
