I wrote about the gorgeous Giuseppe Zanotti Nirvana back in January when I first set eyes upon it. It’s quite a ravishing shoe, very elegant and edgy at the same time. And the snake-like detail is pretty tempting! It’s such a unique design that I didn’t think there would be many copies out there. Imagine my surprise when I came across an extremely similar pair by Bebe…
Some time ago, I mentioned these shoes briefly in a double-take post, and just recently realized that I have never featured this gorgeous pair! These Yves Saint Laurent Opyum pumps were probably my most fortunate footwear find. I was in the St. David’s TJ Maxx store during the tail end of the winter clearance event last year. There were a fair amount of clothing clearance bargains still left but after perusing the shoes and not finding much in my size, I headed off to the registers. As I was waiting in line, I decided to dig through a large clearance bin nearby…and I came across these. I’m not sure who stuffed them into the container filled with lotions and beauty products, but I’m so very glad that they did!
Normally I don’t like chunky ankle straps because I feel that thinner ones accentuate the leg much better, but this particular pair of heels by Michael Kors captured my heart. The silhouette is very simple, but the bold buckle really makes the shoe speak volumes. The peep toe detail is a nice touch because it balances the heaviness of the ankle strap. These amazing shoes are a bit out of my budget, but I’ll be watching for a sale. I came across these at Macy’s in Center City, but you can also find them at Dillard’s.
I love to pair these stunning Casadei pumps with bright colors and sleek accessories. This pair was my first dip into high-end footwear. They came into my possession about two years ago when I won RueLaLa’s super fun ShoeLaLa competition with a photo of my favorite MK sandals. I’ve bought and sold many shoes since then, but these aren’t going anywhere anytime soon! I usually go for shoes with four or five inch heels, but I chose the lower version of the Blade pump because I wanted to wear them comfortably. Definitely one of the more sensible choices I made!
These incredibly simple sandals have become my absolute favorite! I ordered these from Express on a whim because they were having a 40% off sale, and I’m so glad that I did! The minimalist silhouette is extremely versatile, and so comfortable that I find myself wanting to wear them almost every day. These sandals go great with everything from jeans to dresses! Just recently, Express released the sandals again in tan leather and red suede; I’m dying to get them in the other colors. I tried on a 7 in stores and they’re way too big, but I’ll cross my fingers and hope Express will make them in half sizes again.
If you’re searching for a simple but stunning lace-up sandal, look no further than this mouth-watering pair by Jeffrey Campbell + Free People. I love this handmade pair because they’re a modern version of your basic summer espadrille. The tassels are an adorable detail, which balances out the thickness of the heel. This style is so classic, you’ll never need another pair! Except possibly in another color.
I have to admit, I wasn’t a fan of Coach until their designs started heading in the high-fashion direction. With their printed fabrics shouting the brand’s name, I always connected Coach with the logomania trend of the 90s. If there’s one thing I hate, it’s having a brand’s name or logo splashed across my clothing and accessories. But the recent change in style has made me pay more attention to the Coach brand. I’ve since spotted several shoe designs that I love, including the elegant black and gold Lytton pumps above (available in two colors on 6pm). They are classy, delicate, and sophisticated; a far cry from the logo-print sneakers, sandals, and handbags that the brand is more recognized for. Needless to say, I’m excited to see where Coach will go in the next couple years.

I love color, but most of the time, my favorite outfits consist of various shades of neutral. I am one of those people who probably could live in just black and white, and I actually find myself holding back from doing this during the work week; I’m not quite ready to give up my blues, greens, and pinks! For the outfit above, I paired classic style with edgy details, my favorite combination. These Vince Camuto smoking slippers are some of the most comfortable and versatile shoes I own. I find myself wearing them very often. (Also, my cat wanted to pose for this photo…she matches the neutral theme!)
