Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I thought I’d pick a themed shoe for today, considered it’s a day to celebrate all kinds of love, including love for shoes. I’m not normally a fan of bows on footwear, but I find the Chrissie by Kate Spade quite beautiful. The entire shoe is elegant, feminine, and still sexy. Crafted with satin fabric, this heeled sandal looks sleek and sensual with it’s subtle shine and the bow on the heel adds a playful touch. You can find this red darling at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus, and in black at Zappos.
These stunning heels by Giuseppe Zanotti from the S/S14 collection scream sexy goddess. I can’t help but think that they should be worn with flowing white dresses, rich gold jewelry, and followed by entourage of hypnotized men. Paints quite a picture doesn’t it? I think they look extremely elegant in white, but they’re also available in black. Unfortunately, they go for a whopping $1875, so you probably won’t be seeing me wearing them anytime soon. I just hope an equally beautiful double-take comes into existence because they sure make a statement. If the price doesn’t make you feel faint, you can find them on Neiman Marcus, Zappos, and Bergdorf Goodman.
Spring is just around the corner, and I’m glad to see that lady-like heels are still around. Sandals with ankle straps are fantastic shoes because they are both sexy and comfortable, if you find the right pair for you. An ankle strap helps keep the shoe stable on your feet, and the open structure reveals the feminine arches and painted toes. I especially love the Oljera by Vince Camuto because the color is so bright and the texture makes the shoe interesting. The little buckles on the side are the cherries on top of a fantastic pair of shoes. And if bright red isn’t your thing, they’re also available in black. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying them on in person, but I bet they’re very comfortable; I own several Vince Camuto shoes (both flat and heeled) and have never been disappointed. You can find these on Revolve, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s.
To put it simply, nirvana is a place or state characterized by freedom from or oblivion to pain, worry, and the external world. I’m not quite sure why this particular word was chosen as a name for these shoes by Giuseppe Zanotti, but I’m assuming that getting your hands on a pair would evoke a pretty fantastic feeling. The silhouette of this shoe is beautiful; a gently curving heel and the stunning snake-like ankle strap make the shoe sensual, elegant, and very unique. I can’t help by wonder how well they stay on though.
Everyone has that go-to pair of shoes in their closet, the pair that goes with everything and is super comfortable. And if you don’t, look no further than these boots by Enzo Angiolini (available at DSW or Nordstrom). The Saharia is a perfect blend of casual comfort and effortless cool. The style is so timeless that they’ll quickly become your best friend! I’m hoping to add a pair to my closet, as soon as I can track them down to try them on.
There is one style that I will never grow tired of: black and white color-blocking. As much as I love colors and patterns, a neutral palette is something I always default to when I’m rushed in the morning or when I want to keep my outfits simple. It’s a timeless combination that always manages to look polished and chic. The Fastir pump by Enzo Angiolini is a beautiful, sleek shoe that would feel quite at home with all my other pumps. I’m dying to add it to my collection, but I think I’ll have to wait a bit considering I barely have room for the other recent additions to my closet. You can find this gorgeous pair at DSW, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale’s.
I currently own three pairs of Vince Camuto shoes, and they’re all extremely comfortable, even the really high heels. So there’s no doubt in my mind that the Follie sneakers (available on ShoeBox and Dillard’s) would probably be one of the best wedge sneakers out there. Even without holding them in my hand, I can tell that the modest 2.75″ heel paired with lacing and padded suede upper adds to the comfort of these shoes. The quilting and teeny studs are such a great detail and add to the uniqueness of these sneakers. If I get a chance to try on a pair, I’ll report back! In the meantime, grab yourself a pair (they’re on sale!) and let me know what you think.
Studded shoes seem to be growing on me because I keep coming across styles that I really want. I especially love combinations of unexpected elements, such as feminine colors and shapes with edgier details. The Michael Kors Larissa is a perfect example. And although it looks fantastic in black (Zappos, Bloomingdale’s, Nordstrom), I absolutely love it in white (Macy’s) because an amazing balance of two different looks is achieved by combining the dainty white straps with hardcore studs. Without the metal accents, the shoes would look like any other evening sandal, but the studs add that extra element to make the shoes stand out among the rest.
I’ve never believed in the “No white after Labor Day” rule for fashion; white is a classic color that can be worn year round as long as it’s styled properly. There are many shades of white and one of my favorites is “winter white,” which is not quite white and not quite cream, it’s a subtle ivory color that goes with everything. These wedge boots by Isabel Marant are the perfect shade of winter white, and would look amazing with pale grey jeans and a chunky cable-knit sweater. I especially love the little tufts of fur poking out from between the straps, it’s a unique touch to a simple boot. They’re currently on sale on Net-a-Porter, so grab a pair before they’re gone!
I can’t resist shoes with fluffy details. If I could, I’d snap them all up! I still can’t forget about “the ones that got away” because of my rationalized decision. Looking back, I probably could have kept them and paid them off by now, but at the time, it didn’t seem like the best idea. I’ve [sort of] made peace with that and hopefully something else equally as fabulous will come along. I have my eye on these edgy-yet-adorable Sergio Rossi boots I spotted on ShoeBox. They’re both fashionable and practical because the height is easy to walk in, and the styling is classic. I can just picture myself wearing them with black tights and a cozy green sweater dress. Now if only I can find them for less!
