The most trending style you couldn’t help but notice this spring was studded shoes, and the most popular came from Valentino. The Rockstud (Saks, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom) has been spotted on celebrities and bloggers, which quickly made them very popular. I think it’s because Valentino took an element reserved for hardcore punk styles and pared it down to something that is sophisticated, sleek, sexy, and edgy all at the same time. It’s not surprising that many other brands took inspiration from the original Valentino designs.
The Rockstud Noir above comes in many difference color combinations (white, pink, and red to name a few) and it has become quite iconic because so many people have been seen wearing it. The shoe is both edgy and ladylike, and definitely works at the statement piece in an outfit.
ShoeDazzle does a good job with this double-take because it looks pretty much like the original Valentino shoe. However, I doubt the quality is as good. I’ve heard mixed reviews about ShoeDazzle shoes, and haven’t taken the plunge to test it out myself yet.
This studded sling back by Schutz (Gilt) looks a little more demure than the original Rockstud design. The pumps has fewer ankle straps and a very low kitten heel.
